About Amanda
Amanda grew up in Scotland and moved to England where she enjoyed being active through dancing, playing sports and horse riding. She started the girls choir in her local church and since then she has continued her singing journey and experiences. Her love of music came from her Mother who always loved to sing and filled the house with French and Christian songs, whereas her Father loved collecting vinals from legends such as Stevie Wonder and Abba.
Some of Amanda's favourite artists include: Celine Dion, Michael Jackson, Westlife, Lady A, The Shires, Whitney Houston, Josh Groban, Madeline Merlot, Idena Menzel and many more. "I don't have a favourite artist or genre" Amanda explains, "as all music is a form of inspiration from which I can find joy. If my ears like it, then its in my collection!"
A lyric driven artist Amanda has performed previously on UK television and stage and was a finalist in the television show ‘Pop Stars’ from which she was able to expand her repertoire and start her song writing journey. Building on this, Amanda has since collaborated with global artists in Las Vegas, Nashville, and the UK to produce her music and bring her songs to life.
Amanda's sound is a powerhouse vocal with a soulful edge. Her signature sound has enabled her to carve an identity of her own making. "My work ethic is what gets me through and I get this from my parents. They always taught me to work hard and go where life takes you. They are from Mauritius, a small island where there were limited opportunities, so you had to find a different way forward if you wanted to break out of the traditional path, and I try to do that with my music"
Amanda sings with passion and writes from experience and to also show women as strong characters who take charge, no matter what they face. Currently working on honing her writing skills and penning more songs, we will definitely see more from her in the future.
